Bishop Bernard Wamalwa
Pictures of Bishop Bernard WamalwaI was honoured to be asked to support the consecration of Fr Bernard (United Free Catholic Church) to the Episcopate of the diocese of Kenya. How I would loved to have been there, but alas, not possible. Bishope Bernard will be growing the work of UFCC on the African Continent, and assist with episcopal oversight where necesary for other churches. Bishop Bernard has agreed to assist the LCAC with oversight on an as needed basis, and we praise God for this development in Africa, and indeed, for Bishop Bernards serving and ministry.
The pictures left and below show some of the events after Bishop Bernard's consecration.

The Petersburg Declaration
Whilst on the subject of United Free Catholic Church... The bishops of the UFCC have unanimously approved the Petersburg Declaration. Stemming from the Utrecht Declaration - through which many of us derive our ecclesial authority - the UFCC bishops have embraced and enlarged on this, and so renew the wonderful heritage which is free catholicism in this 'strand' at least. For all of us in the 'Independent Sacramental Movement' this will be a defining moment, a renewal for the the Utrecht Declaration, and a mandate for the future for those that wish to accept it. Below is a transcript of Bishop Mark Leavell's message.

Dear Venerable Brothers,
I take this opportunity to share with you that the Petersburg Declaration has been unanimously approved, and we will shortly provide a Parchment for each of you to sign – in turn – so that we may preserve this historic moment.
The Petersburg Declaration will be officially released on Sunday, 26 September 2010, to coincide with the historic Utrecht Declaration.  Additionally, that Sunday, the last Sunday in September, will be designated as Free Catholic Sunday which will be a perpetual observance for all our jurisdictions.  We will be providing additional information in advance of this observance.
Thank you for your comments and discussion, and the collegiality which has bathed this historic moment.  Would that all those who share our values recognize what God is doing, and join with us.  Peace to all of you my brothers.
In Christ
+Mark.  Presiding Bishop, UFCC

It has been a priviledge to take part in the Episcopal Ordination of Fr Colin Stebbing (Br Thomas OEF) and Revd Alyssa Stebbing (Sr Magdelena OEF). The consecration took place at Newington Green Unitarian Church, London on 14th August 2010. The oldest surviving non-conformist place of worship still in use in the Capital today, was alive with the Spirit as Bishops from the EADM, the LCAC and the Young Rite, conferred the Apostolic Succession on our brother and sister.  This now means that the Episcopal Mission of Sts Francis and Clare will be the serving of +Thomas and +Magdelena who will lead their work forward from Texas USA from this point forward. We pray that their serving will be blessed. A special prayer of blessing was sent by Bishop Charles Mugleston, who was originally hoping to be the consecrating bishop. Consecrating Bishop was Rt Revd Alistair Bate CCP; Co-consecrators: The Most Revd Andrew Linley OCR DD, the Most Revd John Kersey OCR DD, the Rt Revd Adrian Glover OCR OAM, and the Rt Revd. Louise Lombard OAM. Also Sr Anne of the Child Jesus (deacon) and Scott Blunt (minor orders) whose assistance was invaluable.

Claire Young was admitted to the postulancy of the CSMC, a sister group to the CCP at the same ceremony.

We welcome the following:
We welcome Nathalie Walmsley Beveridge who joins the LCAC as Reader. Nathalie lives and works in Surrey. Coming from an RC background and a teaching environment, we are sure that she will bring her many talents to our church and
that she will find the home for her expression of ministry. Nathalie is already well qualified, but wishes to further study (the part she likes apparently) and we are exploring options for her to do this. Her Oratory is already dedicated to St Michael; so there are now two St Michaels in LCAC!
Sadly we don't have a photo of Nathalie.... we'll put one up next time.

Revd Mhoira Lauer-PattersonWe also welcome Revd Mother Mhoira Lauer-Patterson, who joins LCAC as she returns 'home' from Australia in about 9 weeks time. Mtr Mhoira is a theologian of long standing and prioress of Companions of Christ Crucified. Eminently qualified, and incardinating from the Australian Old Catholic Church, Mhoira+ will be serving in York and working in mission there.
